Moving a whole house is different from moving a few boxes: there’s more furniture, more rooms to plan around, and more that can go wrong on the way out the door. We plan a house move around your home’s actual layout — its stairs, its doorways, its driveway — so the day itself has as few surprises as possible.

Planning a house move

Before moving day, we talk through the details that shape the plan: how many rooms, whether there’s a basement or garage to clear, what needs to come apart and go back together, and where the truck will park. In older Toronto neighbourhoods with narrow driveways or street parking, that last detail matters as much as anything else.

Large furniture and appliances

Sofas, wardrobes, dining tables, fridges and washers all need a different approach than boxes. We wrap upholstered furniture and wood surfaces before it leaves the room, and we plan the route through your home in advance so a bulky piece doesn’t get stuck at a doorway or a stair landing halfway through the day.

First homes and family moves

Whether it’s a first house, a growing family moving up, or downsizing to somewhere smaller, the goal is the same: a move that goes at a pace that works for your household, not the other way around. Kids’ rooms, home offices and anything fragile get the same careful handling as everything else.

Protecting floors, doors and stairs

We use moving blankets and floor protection at entryways, stairwells and tight corners so the move doesn’t leave marks on the home you’re leaving or the one you’re moving into. Door frames and stair rails get the same attention, especially on staircases that turn.

What to prepare

A little preparation on your end makes the day smoother:

  • Clear a path from each room to the front door before we arrive.
  • Set aside anything you’re taking in your own vehicle (documents, medication, valuables).
  • Let us know about any large or awkward items — pianos, gym equipment, garden sheds — ahead of time.
  • Confirm parking for the truck, especially on a narrow street.

Tell us about your home and your move date, and we’ll come back with a clear, no-obligation quote.
